After finding out that Bed Bath & Beyond will be scaling back on their generous coupon offers, I finally put a large gift card and stash of 20% and $5 off coupons to good use.
Here's a breakdown of what I bought-
Needs:
- Good quality kitchen tools to replace old, melted ones (potato masher, silicone spoon) I've had for years
- Parchment paper, which I find less messy to use and more cost-effective in the long run than aluminum foil and cooking oil. Two rolls will last me months, maybe even until next November.
- A gift for a relative
- 1 x hand soap. I usually buy a wholesale bottle that will last many refills, but had run out and in-laws were visiting. The unit price made it cheaper than a dollar store alternative for the smaller bottle.
- My husband and I have a 'Christmas Cookie Party' problem. We want everywhere to smell like we smuggled in an oven full of baking cookies at this time of year. I bought a candle for our living room, two car fresheners, and two containers of fragrance spheres for my office at work. Guilty, but not sorry. It took me almost a half hour of lapping the store a couple times before I kept all of these items in the cart.
- 2 x hand soap. Okay, okay, I didn't have to buy three, no matter the sale price.
Without the incredibly generous gift card, all of the items on my want list would have gone back. I would have spent a little over $25 then. In total, I saved $19.60 by keeping a hoard of coupons in my car.
To my husband, you're welcome, honey! Enjoy your car now, before it's smelly again.
